Temporary Sail Repair

This short video demonstrates the use of adhesive sail repair tape for the temporary repair of dacron sails.

I would only add that we have used tape such as this to repair dacron racing sails and we always put the tape on both sides of the sail.

We also cut the patch to form smooth round corners to avoid having a sharp square corner that may be caught by a loose running backstay or topping lift, and smooth out the patch after installation with a great deal of pressure (using a metal implement on a hard surface) to ensure maximum adhesion.
